KARL ZIMMERER: MANAGING DIRECTOR
Karl Zimmerer is the Managing Director and Shareholder of Glan Agua Ltd and has over 20 years of experience in the design, construction and operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure throughout Ireland, with over 15 years in a Senior Management position. Karl's professional qualifications include an Honours Degree in Structural Engineering and a Master Degree in Project Management. Karl is a founding member of Glan Agua Ltd and has successfully developed the business into one of the leading companies in the water services sector in Ireland providing a full range of services throughout the Industry.
LUIS MOREIRA DA SILVA: BOARD DIRECTOR
Luis Moreira da Silva is the Irish Branch Director of Parent’s Company Mota-Engil and Board Director of Glan Agua Ltd. He has over 15 years of experience as Project Manager for a number of international large projects in water and wastewater, civil, road and building construction. Luis's professional qualifications include a Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master Degree in International Management. During his career, Luis’s developed good planning & organizational skills and acquired knowledge of a wide spectrum of management disciplines. Responsibilities include assisting in account development, developing targets for the Company, implementing long-term plans and generating new business from customers.
TOM O'CONNOR: DIRECTOR
Tom O'Connor, has a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering and currently fulfils the role of Director and Shareholder of Glan Agua Ltd. Tom was a founding member of Glan Agua Ltd at their incorporation in 2008. He has over 20 years experience in Civil Engineering while working in Ireland, the UK and Overseas, covering many disciplines such as the Design and Build of Water and Waste Water Projects, Road and Bridge projects, Marine Works and General Building. He has a strong focus on delivering a professional service to Glan Agua Ltd's various clients and fostering a spirit of cooperation with our partners in the industry.
AINE HEALY: HSQE & HR DIRECTOR
Aine is the HSQE & HR Director with Glan Agua Ltd. Aine joined Glan Agua in 2010. Aine has over 15 years’ experience in HSQE on major civil, water and wastewater infrastructure projects ranging in value up to €92million. Her role also involves the overall maintenance of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Integrated Management System and in 2019, Aine oversaw the successful transition of the Management System to the new ISO 45001 standard.
MICHEAL MOORE: CONTRACTS DIRECTOR
Michael Moore has undertaken the role of Shareholder and Head Estimator since the incorporation of MEIC Ltd in 2007. Michael, a Degree Qualified Civil Engineer has been instrumental in the growth of MEIC Ltd and key to its success to date. Michael has been involved in the industry in Ireland for over 15 years, initially working on various challenging and difficult projects throughout Ireland, before moving to the estimating department as his career developed. To date, Michael has gained considerable knowledge in many aspects of Building and Civil Engineering including road and bridges, pipelines, water treatment works, including design and build, along with experience on various forms of contract which are prevalent in the industry. He is committed to the further development of MEIC and sees the delivery of a quality service to its client base as a crucial element to the future success.
ANDREW DRIVER: CONTRACTS DIRECTOR
Andrew is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has over 18 years’ experience in construction and civil engineering projects. He has extensive experience in successful (Design & Build - DB) project delivery, estimating, procurement and project management. Since joining MEIC Ltd. in 2008, Andrew has worked as Project Manager, Contracts Manager and is currently leading our project delivery teams within the Irish Water sector as Contracts Director. Andrew has wide-ranging experience, having successfully managed projects such as major DB Water and Waste Water treatment facilities from initial design inception to completion, roads, bridges and other various building projects.
DR. JOHN FOX: OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
John holds a PhD in Environmental Microbiology from NUI Galway. He has over 7 years of Environmental Engineering experience in a wide variety of areas including Wastewater Bioengineering, Water Treatment, Regulatory Compliance, Industrial Effluent, Project Management, Laboratory Analysis, Process Optimisation and Scientific Writing. He is currently managing 30 plants in Galway, Roscommon and Cavan. John also manages the Mobile Centrifuge Unit for Glan Agua Ltd.
PAUL GARDNER: UK OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Paul is a Chartered Engineer and MBA Graduate with over 7 years’ experience in the construction industry both in Ireland and internationally. Having worked as Project Engineer and Client Representative on a number of key infrastructure projects in the Water/Wastewater and Mining industries, he has gained strong experience in project delivery. Paul is focused on developing market opportunities and managing Glan Agua’s operations in the United Kingdom
