Boil Water Notice lifted in Newtowncashel Emergency Works Contract.

Glan Agua Ltd continue to work successfully with Irish Water and Longford County Council to implement an emergency water treatment plant solution for Newtowncashel Water Supply, which has successfully achieved the lifting of a Boil Water notice. The system comprises of raw water abstraction from a nearby Spring, coagulation, clarification, pressure filtration, duty/standby UV disinfection and Chlorine disinfection. Glan Agua Ltd. have successfully designed, installed and commissioned this emergency system within a 12 week timeframe. Following the successful completion and commissioning of works at the treatment plant and on the advice of the HSE, the boil notice for Newtowncashel Water Supply Scheme has been lifted. The new water treatment plant has been commissioned by Glan Agua Ltd engineers and tested extensively by Irish Water and the EPA over recent weeks and months and it has now been determined that it is now safe to drink the water in the Newtowncashel Water Supply scheme. This project demonstrates the ability of Glan Agua Ltd and their team to successfully deliver emergency solutions for Irish Water throughout the Country and within extremely tight timeframes.
